Here I use my hands to stimulate reflex areas on your feet (or hands). These areas correspond to and have an effect in various parts of your body. I usually begin a session with Standing Reflexology where I kneel down and you stand up while I spend about 5 minutes giving you a quick, dynamic whole body work out. (How can you feel this relaxed without falling over?) And then you get to lie down while I work all the reflexes again, but this time more slowly, allowing a feeling of deep relaxation and peace to develop.
This is a relatively new way of working with the body’s reflexes and was pioneered by Lynne Booth. (She calls it Vertical Reflex Therapy)
I work with you either standing or sitting with some weight being taken by the foot – or if you can’t bear to have your feet touched I can work with your hands!
I access the reflexes through the top and sides of your feet, sometimes working both feet together, at other times alternating from one foot to the other.
It is a very powerful treatment and I believe that it is particularly effective because you, and the energies we are working with, are “earthed”. For this reason the treatment lasts only for a few minutes.
It can be used as a complete treatment in itself – very useful in an emergency! However I often combine it with a “lying down” reflexology treatment, or a half body Finger Pressure Massage.
After any session, I may give you “homework” of exercises (which may be practical, mental, energetic or emotional) to support and supplement the treatment you have received.
